Sony Music Masterworks proudly announces the debut release from The London Oratory Schola Cantorum Boys Choir, one of three choirs of the world-renowned London Oratory choral program. The new album Sacred Treasures of England, will be available February 10 on AimHigher Recordings/Sony Classical. The release will be supported by a worldwide tour throughout the year with the U.S. leg in October.
The Schola Cantorum, who have been featured in a number of major motion pictures, including The Lord of The Rings, present music from the English Tudor era on Sacred Treasures of England. Comprised of 14 tracks, the new album includes motets by composers such as William Byrd and Thomas Tallis, as well as the magnificent Missa Euge bone by Christopher Tye.
We provided aerial drone filming both inside and outside of The London Oratory using our DJI S900 and Panasonic GH4 camera with the addition of some supporting ground footage using our Ronin and Sony A7S camera. The London Oratory was a breathtaking venue to film at which oozed charm, depth and history. This teamed up with the angelic sounds of the Schola Cantorum Boys Choir left us captivated. Charles Cole – Director of the Schola, was conducting during the filming. Due to the location of The London Oratory we were operating under our OSC (Operational Safety Case) which allows us to operate up to 20m in congested areas.
